MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn,
9 mm crochet hook

1. For a lightweight scarf work with 1 strand.
For a winter weight scarf work with 2 strands.
2. Chain 96 for a 48 inch long scarf, or any length desired.
3. Single crochet in the 2nd stitch from the hook and each
stitch of the chain.
4. Turn, chain 1, working in the back side of the stitch
only, single crochet in each stitch across the
row. (Always beginning in the 2nd stitch from the hook.)
5. Repeat step 4 until the scarf is as wide as desired.
Fasten off, weave yarn ends into the finished
work.
6. Add fringe if desired. Cut lengths of yarn approx. 12
inches long. Attach to each end of the
scarf with a square knot, or a larks-head knot (see photo).
