1. (Black color)

Work a foundation chain   that wraps around the

slip stitch to join in the top of the chain 2.

3. (Black) Chain 2, *front post double crochet in the next

     desired.  Fasten off.

NECK CORD:  Work a foundation chain that is between 4 and

5 feet (depending on the size being

           made).

Double crochet in the 4th stitch from the hook and

each stitch of the chain, fasten off.

Pass 1/2 inch elastic through the bottom row of the halter top and sew to close. (Usually 1 - 2 inches smaller than the actual halter top is correct.) and sew the 2 ends together. (Optional: pass elastic through the top row also for a snug fit.)

OR

work a chain cord and pass through the bottom of the halter top, tie to fit.

Tie the neck cord around the center front to gather and form 2 front cups, and tie around the neck.
