MATERIALS:

Worsted weight yarn, worked 2 strands

6mm knitting needles

Yarn needle

2 small black beads for eyes, 1 pink bead for nose (or stitch eyes and nose with yarn)

Blush for the cheeks (optional)

 

 INSTRUCTIONS:

1.  Works bottom up. Begin with cream color yarn.

Cast on 4 stitches with 6 mm needles and 2 strands of ww yarn.

2.  Knit 2 stitches in each stitch across the row. (8)

3.  Knit across the row for 2 rows.

4.  Change to flesh color yarn, work in stockinette stitch 

      for  4 rows beginning with a purl row.

5.  Hat: Change to white yarn, (or any color), knit across the

             row for 4 rows.

6.  Knit 2 stitches together, knit 4 stitches, knit 2 stitches together. (6)

7.  Knit across the row for 3 rows.

8.  Repeat step 6 and 7. (4)

9.  Knit 2 stitches together. (2)

10. Knit 2 stitches together and cast off.  Tie the yarn ends

      into a knot to form a hanger.

    Weave yarn ends into the finished work.

 

11.  Wrap yarn around one finger 5 times, (see photo below),  tie     

       into a bundle,  pull the yarn ends to the back on

each side of the face, and tie into a knot.

 

12.  Sew beads for eyes and nose.  Apply blush to the cheeks.

 

IF DESIRED, KNIT ANOTHER SECTION ALL IN CREAM, AND SEW ALL AROUND THE EDGES.

BOOT CUFFS:   

1.  RED YARN:

 5-12 yrs: Cast on 24 stitches

    12-16 yrs: Cast on 28 stitches

    Adult: Cast on 30 stitches

    Adult Large: Cast on 34 stitches

 

2.  Work in ribbing (k1p1) for 3 rows.

 

3.  BLACK YARN:  Work in garter stitch (knit every row) for 20 rows.

 

4.  RED YARN:

Work in ribbing (k1p1) for 4 rows, casting off each stitch after it is worked in the final row.

Fold the work in half, and sew the seam to form a tube.

5. TEXTING GLOVES:

 RED YARN:

 5-12 yrs: Cast on 14 stitches

    12-16 yrs: Cast on16 stitches

    Adult: Cast on 18 stitches

   

6.  Work in ribbing (k1p1) for 3   

rows.

 

7.  BLACK YARN:  Work in garter

stitch (knit every row) for 20

rows.

 

8.  RED YARN:

Work in ribbing (k1p1) for 4

rows, casting off each stitch

after it is worked in the final

row.

Fold the work in half, and sew

the seam leaving an opening for the

thumb.

2.  Knit 2 together, knit across the row.

3.  Repeat step 2 until there are 8 stitches remaining.

4.  Knit across the row for 4 rows.

5.  Knit 2 together across the row. (4)

6.  Knit across the row for 2 rows.

7.  Knit across the row, casting off each stitch after it is worked.

8.  Fold the work in half, and sew the back seam.

9.  Attach a fun fur beard to the hat. (Glue or sew.)

10. Glue or sew a small pom pom for the nose.

Decorate as desired.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1.  Cast on 4 stitches with 2 strands of ww yarn and 6 mm needles.

2.  Knit across the row.

3.  Purl across the row.

4.  Knit 2 stitches in the first stitch, 

    knit across,   knit 2 in the last stitch. (6)

5.  Purl across the row.

6.  Repeat step 4 and 5 until there are 14 stitches.

7.  White yarn, knit across the row.

8.   Red yarn, knit across the row for 2 rows.

9.   White yarn, knit across the row.

10.  Main color: knit the first 2 stitches together, knit across,

       knit the last 2 together.

11.  Purl across the row.

12.  Repeat step 10 and 11 until there are 4 stitches remaining.

13.  Purl across the row.

14.  Knit across the row, casting off each stitch as it is worked, 

      leave a long yarn end.

 Thread it into a needle, fold the work in half, sew the back seam,  

   stop and stuff before the end.
