MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn
6 mm knitting needles
Yarn needle
Fun fur for the beard (or make a yarn beard)
Pom Pom for the nose
Glue gun and glue stick, or sewing thread for assembly
INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Cast on 20 stitches.
2. Knit 2 together, knit across the row.
3. Repeat step 2 until there are 8 stitches remaining.
4. Knit across the row for 4 rows.
5. Knit 2 together across the row. (4)
6. Knit across the row for 2 rows.
7. Knit across the row, casting off each stitch after it is worked.
8. Fold the work in half, and sew the back seam.
9. Attach a fun fur beard to the hat. (Glue or sew.)
10. Glue or sew a small pom pom for the nose.
Decorate as desired.
FINISHED GNOME CAN BE USED AS A BOTTLE TOPPER, OR A HANGING ORNAMENT
