MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn or 100% cotton worsted
4.5 mm crochet hook
Yarn needle
Floral stem wire
Shank style button or a large bead

Make the receptacle: (with green yarn, see finished receptacle in photo 4)
1. Photo 1: Chain 5, slip stitch to join and form a ring.
2. Photo 2: Chain 2, make 8 single crochet in the ring, slip stitch to join.
3. Photo 3: Chain 1 and turn, single crochet in each stitch around, slip stitch to join.
4. Photo 4: Chain 1 and turn, single crochet around, making 2 single crochet in every 2nd
stitch.
5. Repeat step 3, fasten off.
6. Petals: Photo 5: Attach colored yarn in any stitch.
*Chain 6, single crochet in the same stitch, repeat from * to make 3 loops in the same
stitch. (Photo 6)
Make three (3) chain 6 loops in every stitch around, fasten off. (Photo 7 and 8)
Stem: Photo 9: Place a shank style button on the wire, and fold in half.
Photo 10: Pass the wire through the center of the flower.
Photo 11: Sideways view.
Photo 12: Attach yarn in any stitch on the bottom of the receptacle.
Photo 13: Insert hook directly opposite and slip stitch, repeat to make the receptacle
stable on the wire,
Photo 14: Single crochet to cover the entire wire.
Photo 15: At the end, fold the wire over.
Photo 16: Fasten off, and wind the yarn around to cover the folded wire, weave the
yarn end into the finished work.
LEAF:
Photo 17: Attach yarn in any stitch on the stem.
Photo 18: Chain 4, slip stitch into the same stitch to form a loop.
Photo 19: Turn. In the loop make: chain 2, 3 double crochet, chain 2, slip stitch into
the ring, fasten off. Weave yarn ends into the finished work.
