Worsted weight yarn
6.5 mm crochet hook
Yarn needle

1.  Chain 5, slip stitch to join and form a ring.
2.  Newborn - 3 months:  Chain 2, make 8 double crochet in the ring, slip stitch to join.
3- 6 months: chain 2, make 9 double crochet in the ring, slip stitch to join.
6 - 12 months: chain 2, make 10 double crochet in the ring, slip stitch to join.
1 - 2 yrs: chain 2, make 11 double crochet in the ring, slip stitch to join.
2 - 4 yrs: chain 2, make 12 double crochet in the ring, slip stitch to join.





3.  Chain 2 and turn, make 2 double crochet in each stitch around, slip stitch to join.
4.  Repeat step 3.
5.  Chain 1 and turn, single crochet in each stitch around, slip stitch to join.
6.  Repeat step 5 for:
   Newborn - 3 months: 12 more rows, fasten off.
   3 - 6 months: 14 more rows, fasten off.
   6 - 12 months: 16 more rows, fasten off.
   1 - 2 yrs: 18 more rows, fasten off.
   2 - 4 yrs: 20 more rows, fasten off.  

Weave all yarn ends into the finished work.
