#2884 - STANLEY UNISEX KNIT HAT
Quick and easy hat to knit, using 7 mm needles (either straight or circular), and chunky yarn (or 2 strands of ww yarn). Knit a hat in less than 1 hour!

INSTRUCTIONS: Gauge: 3 stitches and 3 rows = 1 sq. inch

1. Work with either straight needles, or circular needles. Worked bottom up.
4-8 yrs: Cast on 48 stitches
2. Work in ribbing (k2p2) for 8 rows.
3. Knit every row for 4 rows.
4. Seed stitch for 4 rows. (k1p1 across the row, then next row, p1k1).
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 (total of 8 rows) for:
4-8 yrs: 2 times (16 rows)
Cast off with approx. 18 inch long yarn end, thread it into a needle and weave through the last row of stitches, passing through every 4th or 5th stitch, pull to gather and close the top of the hat.

If knit on straight needles, sew the back seam, weave yarn end into the finished work.
If knit on circular needles, weave yarn end into the finished work.
