MATERIALS:

Worsted weight yarn (Bernat Premium or Red Heart Super Saver)

6 mm crochet hook

Yarn needle

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

Work 2 sections, sew at the shoulders and side seams.

 

 




CHEST SIZES:

XSMALL: 31-34 INCHES

SMALL: 35- 40 INCHES

MEDIUM: 40-44 INCHES

LARGE: 44-48 INCHES

XL: 49-52 INCHES

2XL: 53-57 INCHES

3XL: 57-60 INCHES

4XL: 61-65 INCHES

5XL: 66-70 INCHES

 

 

1.  Work a foundation chain that is as long as you would   

     like the sleeves to be.

    Long sleeves, elbow length, short sleeves, or 

     sleeveless!!

 

2.  Double crochet in the 5th stitch from the hook.

*skip the next stitch, double crochet in the next stitch, 

 chain 1, repeat from * across the row.

 

 

3.  Chain 3 and turn, *double crochet in the next chain 1 

    space, chain 1, repeat from * across the row.

 

4.  Repeat step 3 until the bodice/sleeves are the width 

    needed to reach from shoulder to underarm or 

     according to the following:

(NOTE: These rows will stretch after being worn the 

first time, so guesstimate on the side of shorter than 

needed.)

XS: 8 inches (approx. 8 rows)

S:  9 inches (approx. 9 rows)

M: 9 inches (approx. 9 rows)

L: 10 inches (approx. 10 rows)                                           

XL: 10 inches(approx. 10 rows)

2XL: 11 inches (approx. 1 rows)

3XL: 12 inches (approx. 12 rows)

 4XL: 13 inches (approx. 13 rows

5XL: 14 inches (approx. 14 rows)

 


 

5.  Mark the 2 ends for the length of the sleeves, with the 

    sleeves equal length, and

making sure to have the following

measurements for the body section in the middle.  

XS: 19 inches

S: 20 inches

M: 22 inches

L: 26 inches

XL: 28 inches

2XL: 30 inches

3XL: 32 inches

4XL: 34 inches

5XL: 36 inches

 


 

6.  Attach blue yarn in this sample:




 Chain 3,

*single crochet in the next chain 1 space,

chain 1, repeat from * across the row.

 

7.  Repeat step 5 one more time.

 

8.  Black in this sample: Chain 2, double crochet

in each stitch across the row, (in the sc and in

the ch 1 space).

 

9.  Chain 2 and turn, *front post double crochet 

    in the next stitch, double crochet in the next stitch,

repeat from * across the row.

10.  Repeat steps  6, 7, 8 and 9 until the sweater is the length desired.  Fasten off.

 

   MAKE 2, SEW TOGETHER AT THE SIDES AND 

    SHOULDERS,

leaving an opening large enough to pass over the head.
