 LAMB’S EAR WREATH

Crochet individual leaves, (very easy, and attach them to a cardboard circle (how-to below), for a unique Christmas wreath!!

MATERIALS:

Worsted weight yarn (Red Heart Super Saver)

5.5 mm crochet hook

Yarn needle

Hot glue gun and glue sticks

Wreath form (instructions included to make with cereal box or cardboard box)

 

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

To make larger leaves for large wreaths, use chunky yarn, or 2 strands of ww yarn, and a 7 mm hook. (For example, velvet yarn and a 9 mm hook.)

Sample shown was worked in Velvet Yarn.

 

1.  Chain 11.

2.  Single crochet in the 2nd stitch from the hook, 

    half- double crochet in the next 2 stitches,

double crochet in the next 2 stitches,

triple crochet in the next 2 stitches,

double crochet in the next 2 stitches,

in the last stitch of the row make 3 single crochet.

Working down the other side of the chain:

double crochet in the next 2 stitches,

triple crochet in the next 2 stitches,

double crochet in the next 2 stitches,

half-double crochet in the next stitch,

single crochet in the last stitche,

slip stitch into the first stitch on the opposite 

side of the chain,

fasten off. 

Weave yarn ends into the finished work.

 

 


Make your wreath round, oval or heart shaped.

Optional: wrap the form with torn fabric, burlap,or ribbon.

MATERIALS:

Worsted weight yarn (Red Heart Super Saver or Bernat Premium) WORKED 2 STRANDS (OR 1 strand of bulky or chunky yarn).

6.5 mm crochet hook

Yarn needle

1.  2 STRANDS OF WW YARN and a 6.5 mm hook.

    (Foot size chart below.)

Chain 5, slip stitch to join and form a ring.

   Carry the yarn end along the outside of the ring.


   5-8 yrs: chain 1, make 6 single crochet in the ring, slip                      stitch to join.

   8-12 yrs: chain 1, make 7 single crochet in the ring, slip                    stitch to join.

   Adult S: chain 1, make 9 single crochet in the ring, slip                      stitch to join.

   Adult M: chain 1, make 10 single crochet in the ring, slip                    stitch to join.

   Adult L: chain 1, make 11 single crochet in the ring, slip                    stitch to join.

   Adult XL foot: chain 1, make 12 single crochet in the                                      ring, slip stitch to join.

 

  Pull the yarn end to close the hole.

 


2.  Chain 1 and turn, make 2 single crochet in each

     stitch  around, slip stitch to join. (12,14,18,20,22,24)

 

3.  Chain 1 and turn, 

*single crochet in the back side of the next stitch, 

single crochet in the front side of the next stitch, 

repeat from * around, slip stitch to join.

 

4.  Repeat step 3 for:

5-8 yrs: 3 more rows

8-12 yrs: 4 more rows.

Adult S: 5 more rows.

Adult M: 5 more rows.

Adult L: 6 more rows.

Adult XL foot: 7 more rows.

 

5.  Chain 1 and turn, 

   *single crochet in the back side of the next stitch, 

    single crochet in the front side of the next stitch, 

    repeat from * across the row BUT leave the last number 

     of stitches below not worked into:

5-8 yrs: 3 stitches

8-12 yrs: 3 stitches

Adult S: 4 stitches

Adult M: 4 stitches

Adult L: 5 stitches

Adult XL foot: 6 stitches.

 

  

6.  Chain 1 and turn, 

    *single crochet in the back side of the next stitch,           

      single crochet in the front side of the next stitch, 

     repeat from * across the reduced number of

stitches.

 

7.  Repeat step 6 until the work is the length of the foot:

    

SHOE SIZES:

2 yrs: 5.5 inches long

3 yrs: 6.25 inches long

4 yrs: 6.75 inches long

5-8 yrs: 7 inch long foot (17.78 cm)

8-12 yrs: 8 inch long foot (20.32 cm)

Adult sizes:

Size 6 =  9.3 inch long foot (23.6 cm)

Size 6.5 = 9.5 inch foot (24.13 cm)

Size 7  = 9.7 inch long foot (24.6 cm)

Size 8 =  10 inch long foot (25.4 cm)

Size 9 =  10.2 inch long foot (26 cm)

Size 10 = 10.5 inch long foot (26.7 cm)

Size 11 = 11 inch long foot (28 cm)

Size 12 = 12 inch long foot (30.5 cm)

Size 13 = 13 inch long foot (33 cm)

Size 14 = 14 inch long foot (35.5 cm)

 

S-M: size 6 - 7

M-L: size 8- 9

L-XL: size: 10-12

 

 

Fold the work in half, and slip stitch the heel end closed. Fasten off.

 

MAKE THE BAND:

Attach yarn in the center back of the slipper.

Chain 2, double crochet in the next stitch. 

 *Skip the equivalent space of a double crochet, 

double crochet in the next 2 stitches.  

Repeat from * around, slip stitch to join.

Chain 2 and turn, 

*front post double crochet in the next stitch, 

double crochet in the next stitch, 

repeat from * around, slip stitch to join, fasten off. 

Weave yarn ends into the finished work.

KNITTING PATTERN, LITTLE BELL PEOPLE CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT, Knitting pattern # 2787

6 mm knitting needles

Yarn needle

Small ball for the head (styrofoam or wood)

Bell from a Christmas bell garland (or a wine cork)

 

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

1.  Hat: cast on 6 stitches, knit every row until the work will wrap

around the head.

Cast off, sew into a tube with a needle and the same yarn.

Tie one end to form the top of the hat.


Glue the head onto the bell.


Hot glue the hat onto the head.  

Tie a bow around the neck.


(I colored the ball with a pink marker, and added dots for eyes with a black sharpie marker.)

1.  Cast on 40 stitches.

2.  Knit 2 stitches together across the row. (20)

3.  Knit 2 stitches together across the row casting off each stitch after it is

worked. (10)  Thread the yarn end into a needle, sew the 2 ends

together, sew a button in the center.
