Worsted weight yarn (Red Heart Super Saver or Bernat Premium)
6 mm crochet hook
Yarn needle

1. USE ANY SIZE YARN AND ANY SIZE HOOK.
Change the size of the finished stars by using
larger or smaller size yarn and hooks.
Chain 5, slip stitch to join and form a ring.
(Hold the yarn end along the outside of the ring
to enclose it into the stitches.)
1. Chain 2, make 14 double crochet in the ring, slip stitch to
join in the top of the chain 2.
(Pull the yarn end to close the hole in the center.)
2. Chain 5, single crochet in the 2nd stitch from the hook, half-
double crochet in the next stitch,double crochet in
the next stitch, triple crochet in the next
stitch, skip the next 2
dc, slip stitch in the next stitch. (First point of the star
completed.)
3. Repeat step 3 to make a total of 5 points, fasten off, weave
yarn ends into the finished work.
TO MAKE A MOBILE, TIE A group of strands OF YARN APPROX. 36 INCHES LONG ALL TOGETHER WITH A KNOT (the knot can be used for hanging the mobile), then wrap each yarn around an embroidery hoop, and tie stars at random lengths.
Or for a neater knot: cut 3 or 4 strands of yarn 60 inches long, fold in half, and tie an overhand knot at the folded end (for hanging), then wrap the yarn ends around an embroidery hook. (A tree branch could be used for a rustic look.)
