MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn: any color for clothing, white or gray for beard.

6 mm crochet hook
Yarn needle
2 beads for eyes, 1 bead for nose
3 buttons
1.5 inch styrofoam ball for head
Various embellishments
Paper cone (instructions in the video)
Hot glue gun and glue sticks, or white glue
Pink blush make-up (or a pink crayon or marker)

COAT:  (Coat is worked as a flat rectangle.)
Chain as long as the cone is tall.  Single crochet in the 2nd stitch from the hook,and each stitch of the chain. *Chain 1 and turn, single crochet in each stitch across the row, working in the back side of the stitch only.  Repeat from* until the work wraps around the cone, fold in half, and sew into a tube.

SLEEVES: (Sleeves are worked as flat rectangles, similar to the coat, only smaller.)
Make 2. Chain 10, single crochet in the 2nd stitch from the hook,and each stitch of the chain. *Chain 1 and turn, single crochet in each stitch across the row, working in the back side of the stitch only. Repeat from* for 10 - 12 rows, fasten off.  Fold in half, sew into tubes.

HANDS: (Worked as flat rectangles)
Make 2. Chain 7, single crochet in the 2nd stitch from the hook,and each stitch of the chain. *Chain 1 and turn, single crochet in each stitch across the row, working in the back side of the stitch only. Repeat from* for 2 more rows, fasten off.  Fold in half, sew into tubes.

HAT:  (Worked as a flat rectangle)
Chain 11, single crochet in the 2nd stitch from the hook,and each stitch of the chain. *Chain 1 and turn, single crochet in each stitch across the row, working in the back side of the stitch only. Repeat from* for as many rows as the coat. Fold in half, sew into a tube.

FACE:
Cut a scrap of white t-shirt (or an old sock), and glue over the ball.  Make sure there is one area that is smooth for the face part.

1. Slide the cone inside the coat tube, glue along the bottom edge.

2. Place arms beside the top of the cone, tie a piece of yarn to attach them. Apply glue for a permanent fix.

3. Slide the head into the hat, glue in place.

4. Push a craft stick inside the head, then into the cone, glue in place.

5. Cut lengths of yarn for the beard and hair, (wind around 4 fingers, tie into a bundle, glue in place. Make 7 - 8 bundles.)

6.  Apply blush to the cheeks with a cotton tip swab (or your finger).

7.  Glue beads on for eyes and nose, (or use pins with beads attached.)

8.  Glue buttons down the front of the coat.

9.  Attach any embellishments of your choice.
