double crochet in the next 6 stitches, V stitch in the next stitch;
double crochet in the remaining 5 stitches.
3. Chain 2 and turn, *double crochet in the same stitch, and in each stitch up to the next
V stitch. In the chain 1 space of the V stitch, make a V stitch.
*Double crochet in each stitch up to the next V stitch, in the chain 1 space, make a
V stitch. Repeat from * two more times, double crochet in each remaining stitch.
4. Repeat step 3 for 3 more rows.
5. Attach a contrasting color yarn, (optional), chain 2, *double crochet up to and including the

6. Skirt: Working with main color Chain 2 and turn, 2 double crochet in the same stitch,

NOTE: When working the neck opening, and working down the 2 sides of the back
opening, instead of working a single crochet in the next stitch, work a single crochet in the
base of the next double crochet. This will make a more flat trim around the opening.
Use one of the loops as a buttonhole, and sew a button that will fit through the loop on the opposite side.
Pass a ribbon through the first row of stitches on the skirt.
Weave all yarn ends into the finished work.
