Worsted weight yarn
4.5 mm crochet hook
Yarn needle,
Button,
Beads optional

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Chain 5, slip stitch to join and form a ring.
2. Chain 1 , carry the yarn end along the outside of the ring, make
8 single crochet in the ring, slip stitch to join.
Pull the yarn end to close the hole.
3. Chain 1 and turn, single crochet around, making 2 single crochet in every 2nd stitch, slip stitch to join. (12)
4. Work single crochet stitches in a spiral, making 2 single
crochet in every 3rd stitch, , until the circle is as large as you
would like the bottom of the back pack to be.
5. Begin the sides of the bag: Single crochet around, (no more
increase), until the bag is as tall as you would like it to
be.
6. Make the flap: chain 1 and turn, single crochet into the next 6
stitches.
*Chain 1 and turn, single crochet across the row of 6 stitches.
Repeat from * for 2 more rows.
Turn, slip stitch into the first stitch, single crochet in the next 3
stitches, slip stitch into the last stitch.
Turn, slip stitch in the next stitch, chain 4, slip stitch into the last
stitch, (buttonhole formed).
Sew a button on the front of the bag.

Attach beads on the ends of the cord if desired.
Attach a key ring into a couple of stitches on the back of the back
pack.
