free crochet pattern - #1180yt, SHELL EDGING, borders and trim

1180yt- SHELL EDGING, trim for borders, bracelets, or headbands
Quick and easy crochet trim, for borders, or for making bracelets, or headbands. 
Sew onto towels, on the bottom of clothing, around hat brims, or anywhere you would like to add your own special touch!

MATERIALS:
ANY SIZE YARN, ANY SIZE HOOK.
This design used: 4.5 mm hook, and 100% cotton worsted yarn.
Button if making a bracelet or headband.

1. Chain 4, make 5 double crochet in the 4th stitch from the hook.
2. Chain 3, single crochet in the same stitch as the 5 double crochet stitches.
3. Chain 2, turn, 5 double crochet in the chain 3 loop.
4. Chain 3, single crochet in the same chain 3 loop.
5. Repeat step 3 and 4 until the desired length is obtained, fasten off.

TO MAKE A BRACELET:  Sew a button on one end, and use the last 3 chain loop as a button hole on the other end. 

 Beads were sewn into the natural holes for the bracelet shown.




TO MAKE INTO A HEADBAND:
Simply crochet until you have the length desired, then sew a button on the end, and use the chain 3 loop on the other end as a button hole.
