MATERIALS:

HOMESPUN THICK AND QUICK (125 yds) , 

or 2 strands of ww yarn  (250 yds)

Or 2 strands of regular homespun yrn (250 yds)

9mm knitting needles (US 13)

Yarn needle

 

 

INSTRUCTIONS: Finished stocking: 15 inches by 9.5 inches with Homespun thick and quick.

1.  Pattern available on Ravelry as an INSTANT DOWNLOAD PDF:

WORKED SIDEWAYS. With 9 mm staight needles and HOMESPUN THICK AND QUICK

or 2 strands of ww yarn,

or 2 strands of regular homespun yarn,

cast on 7 stitches.

2.  Knit the first stitch, knit 2 stitches in each stitch across the row, knit only one stitch in the   

last stitch. (12)

3.  Knit across the row (garter stitch) for 12 rows.

4.  Cast on an additional 20 stitches to work the leg section. (32)

5.  Knit every row for 42 rows.

6.  Cast off 20 stitches, knit across the remaining 12 stitches.

7.  Knit every row for 12 rows.

8.  Knit the first stitch, knit 2 stitches together 5 times, knit the

last stitch. (7)

9.  Cast off. Leave a long yarn end.

 

 

 

 

 

 

10. Fold the work in half, and sew under the foot, across the toe,

the top of the foot, and up the leg

 

 

Optional: 

with a contrasting color yarn and a yarn needle,sew the

simulation of a cuff across the top.  

Add a bow and a name card if desired.
