1.  Worked flat, sideways in a long rectangle like a scarf.

   Cast on:

   Newborn - 3 months: 22 stitches

   3-6 months: 26 stitches

 

2.  Knit every row until the work measures:

Newborn-3 months: approx. 14 inches

3-6 months: approx. 16 inches

 

Cast off with a long yarn end.  Fold the rectangle in half, and sew the side seam, then sew across the top of the hat.  Weave yarn ends into the finished work.

Sew tassels on each corner.
