MATERIALS:

Worsted weight yarn, worked 2 strands (100 yds ww yarn)

7 mm or 8 mm knitting needles

Yarn needle

Purse handles of your choice


INSTRUCTIONS:

My main focus with designing is to produce a pattern that requires the least amount of instructions, for ease of construction.You can find ALL my patterns on Ravelry: https://www.ravelry.com/designers/emi-harrington  Including over 500  FREE patterns.

 

1.  Worked flat

Cast on any number of stitches in multiples of 2. (In this desgn 24, (8 inch wide purse.)

2.  Work in ribbing (k1p1) for 4 rows.

3.  Work in stockinette stitch, changing colors as desired for 48 rows.

4.  Work in ribbing for 4 rows. (k1p1).  Cast off, fold the work in half, and sew the side

    seams. Attach any purse handles desired.

MATERIALS:

Worsted weight yarn (Red Heart Super Saver or Bernat Premium) 5-12 yrs: approx. 30 yds of each color;

             Adult: approx. 40 yds of each color;

5.5 mm crochet hook

Ruler or measuring tape

Yarn needle

TEXTING GLOVES

 

WORKED FLAT!

REPEAT THE SAME COLOR SEQUENCE throughout. 

1. Black yarn:

 5-12 YEARS:  Chain 20

TEEN AND ADULT: Chain 26,


Double crochet in the 4th stitch from the hook, and each 

stitch of the chain.





1.  PULL NEW COLOR (red in this design)  chain 2 (counts 

     as a dc), double crochet into the next 2 stitches 

    *chain 3,  skip the next 3 dc, dc in 

    the next 3 stitches, repeat

from * across the row. At the end of the row chain 3, slip 

stitch in the last stitch.


 

 

3.  PULL NEW COLOR INTO THE SINGLE CROCHET 

     STITCH (wine in this design), 

chain 2 (counts as a dc),

double crochet into the next 2 stitches of the previous 

row (long double crochet), 

(note: you will be enclosing the chain 3 

within the double crochet stitches),

*chain 3, skip the next 3 dc, work 3 long double crochet 

into the 3 dc stitches of the previous row. At the 

end of the row chain 3, slip stitch in the last 

  
     stitch.



4. Repeat step 3, changing colors in the same sequence 

    throughout. (Blk/red/wine)

Work until the work is the desired height. (17 rows in this  

sample.)  

 

 

 

5. LAST ROW:  Work a sc in every dc, and a dc in the dc of the previous row across.

Fasten off with a long yarn end, thread it into a yarn needle, fold the work in half, sew the seam closed, leaving an opening for the thumb.

1. Top section: chain 5, slip stitch to join and form a ring.

  *Chain 4, single crochet in the ring,

repeat from * to form 8 loops in the ring, slip stitch to join in     

the base of the first chain 4. Fasten off.

 

2. Middle Section: Chain 5, slip stitch to join and form a ring. 

   *Chain 3, single crochet in the ring, repeat

from * to form 8 loops in the ring.

 *Single crochet into the next loop, chain 2, double crochet 

but only pull through the first 2 loops, double

crochet, but pull through 2 loops, then pull through all 3 

loops on the hook, chain 3, slip stitch into the top

of the dc (picot formed), chain 2, single crochet in the same 

loop (petal formed).  Repeat from * across

the row to form 8 petals, slip stitch to join in the first sc, 

fasten off.

 

3.  Bottom Section:  Chain 5, slip stitch to join and form a 

    ring.  *Chain 6, single crochet in the ring,

repeat from * around.  

At the end of the row *single crochet in the next loop, 

chain 2, double crochet but only pull through the first 2 

loops, dc but pull through only 2 loops, dc pull through 2 

loops, then pull through all 4 loops on the hook, chain 3, slip 

stitch in the top of the dc stitches, (picot formed), chain 2,

single crochet in the same loop (petal formed).  

Repeat from * around, slip stitch to join in the 1st sc,

fasten off.


Stack all the layers, sew a button in the center.
