Red heart super saver (45 yds black, 90 yds main color). 

              Worked 2 strands

              (Or 1 strand of Chunky yarn)

8 mm knitting needles (US 11)   (NOT 5 mm, US 8)

Yarn needle

 

INSTRUCTIONS: Gauge: 2 stitches and 3 rows = 1 sq. inch

1.  Works toe up. (45 yds black, 90 yds main color)

With black yarn cast on 44 stitches. (2 strands of ww yarn, 8 mm 

needles).

Knit every row for 8 rows.

2.    Change to main color.

      Knit 18, knit 2 together 4 times, knit 18. (40)

3.    Purl across the row.

4.    Knit 16, knit 2 together 4 times, knit 16. (36)

5.    Purl across the row.

6.    Knit 14, knit 2 together 4 times, knit 14. (32)

7.    Purl across the row.

14.   (Black yarn) Work in ribbing (k1p1) for 4 - 8 rows.

        Cast off loosely with a long yarn end.

         Thread it into a needle, fold the work in half, sew the back  

        seam and under the foot.
