MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn
6 mm crochet hook
Yarn needle

INSTRUCTIONS: Works sideways, as a long rectangle.
1.  Copyright: Emi Harrington, please do not share 
     in any form.  
  Chain 15.
2.   Single crochet in the 2nd stitch from the hook, 
     and each stitch of the chain.

3.   *Chain 1 and turn, working in the back side of 
      the stitch only, single crochet in each stitch 
     across the row.  
  Repeat from * for 2 more rows.

4.  Chain 2 and turn, double crochet in each stitch 
     across the row.

5.  Chain 2 and turn, *front post dc in the next 
     stitch, single crochet in the next stitch, repeat 
     from * across the row.

6.  Chain 1 and turn, single crochet in each stitch 
     across the row.
7.  *Chain 1 and turn, working in the back side of 
      the stitch only, single crochet in each stitch 
      across the row.  Repeat
   from * for 3 more rows.

8.  Repeat step 4, 5, 6, and 7 until the work 
     measures approx. 14-15 inches.  Fold the work 
     in half, bringing the foundation row and the last 
     row together, slip stitch to join and form a 
     tube.   Then single crochet across the open
  end of the tube, skipping 4 stitches between 
  each sc to gather up and close the top of the 
  hat. Thread the yarn endinto a needle, weave 
 through the last row of  stitches, pull to close     
 the top of the hat.   Weave yarn ends into 
 the finished work.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn, worked 2 strands 
(Adult: 120 yds, 12-16 yrs: 100 yds; 5-12 yrs: 85 yds)
7 mm knitting needles (worked flat)
Yarn needle

INSTRUCTIONS:

1.  Copyright: Emi Harrington, please do not share in any form.      
     Works bottom up.

     Working with size 7 mm needles, and 2 strands of ww yarn:
  (White yarn )Cast on:  
  5-12 yrs: 36 stitches;  
  12-16 yrs: 40 stitches;  
  Adult: 44 stitches

2.   Work in ribbing: k2 p2 for 4 rows.

3.  (Gray yarn) (Not necessary to cut yarn after each sequence.)
 Work in stockinette stitch (k one row, p one row) for 2 rows.

4.  (White yarn) Work in garter stitch (k every row)  for 4 rows.

5.  Repeat step 3 and 4 for:
  5-12 yrs: 2 times (12 rows)
 12-16 yrs: 3 times (18 rows)
 Adult: 4 times (24 rows).

6.  Knit 2 stitches together across the row. (19, 20, 22)

7.  Knit 2 stitches together across the row, casting off each stitch 
     after it is worked. (10, 10, 11)

Leave a long yarn end, thread it into a needle, sew the back seam 
of the hat.

8 mm knitting needles (worked flat)
Yarn needle

INSTRUCTIONS: Gauge: 2 stitches and 3 rows = 1 sq. inch

1.  Copyright: Emi Harrington, please do not 
     share  in any form.  This hat works in 
     sequences of ribbing of k1p1 for 5 rows, 
     and then the opposite  p1k1 for 5 rows.
   Working with 2 strands of ww yarn, and 8 mm         needles: cast on 32 stitches

2.  Work in ribbing (k1p1) for 5 rows.

3.  Work in ribbing (p1k1) for 5 rows.  (Note, work 
      a purl stitch in a knit stitch for the first
   row of this sequence.)

4.  Work in ribbing for 5 rows, working the 
     opposite of the previous sequence.

5.  Repeat step 4 for one more sequence, then 
    cast  off, leaving a long yarn end.  Thread it into 
    a yarn needle, weave through the last row of 
    stitches, pull to gather and close the top of the 
    hat, take several stitches to secure, then sew 
    the back seam of the hat.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn worked 2 strands 
(36 yds cream color;  52 yds brown color )
6 mm knitting needles, (US 10) (worked flat)
Yarn needle
2 buttons for eyes


INSTRUCTIONS:

1.  Copyright: Emi Harrington, please        do not share in any form.
  Working with 6mm needles, and 2       strands of ww yarn (cream color), 
  cast on 10 stitches.


2.    Work in stockinette stitch (k one 
     row, p one row) as follows:
   Knit 2 stitches in the first stitch,        knit across the row knitting 2 
  stitches in the last stitch. 
  (12 stitches)

3.  Purl across the next row.

4.  Repeat step 2 and 3 for 3 more 
    times. (18 stitches)  

5.  Knit 2 stitches in the first 2 
    stitches, knit across the row, knit 2 
    stitches in each of the last 2     
    stitches. (22 stitches)

6.  Purl across the row.

7.  Repeat step 5 and 6 for 3 more 
    times. (34 stitches)

8.  Change to brown color yarn. Work 
    in garter stitch (knit every row).  (I 
    used one strand of tan, and one 
    strand of a multicolor brown. 
   Fun yarn could also be used. )

 Repeat step 5 and 6 for 2 more  
 times, except in step 
6 do not purl, knit 
across the row. 
(42 stitches)


9.  Work in garter  
    stitch (knit every 
    row) for 18 rows.  

10.  Knit the first 15 
      stitches, knit 2 stitches 
      together for times, knit 
      the remaining
     15 stitches.
   (32 stitches).  


Cast off. Thread the yarn end into a needle, sew  bottom corners of the back  together to close and provide an opening for the handle.  


11.  Place the tea cozy over the tea 
      pot, and pin the front snout to 
      fit.  
      Remove from the tea pot,   
   and sew the 
   seam closed  
   with the            yarn end  
   and a yarn 
   needle, up to the point  you 
   marked to fit properly over the 
   snout. (Note: not all of the cream 
  yarn will be connected.)

12.  Place the tea cozy back onto the 
      pot, (see photo below), tuck the 
      top of the snout down into the 
      space where the spout meets the 
      pot, and pin to fit, then remove, 
     and sew a few stitches with same 
     color yarn to keep the shape 
     permanently. Sew buttons on each 
     side for eyes.
