BLOCKING: Basically there are 2 ways of blocking.
1.  Steam blocking: arrange item on a flat surface, hold steam iron above the surface, (not touching the surface), and
   steam. Allow the item to dry in the shape desired.
2.  Immerse in water, and squeeze water out, or spray with water. Arrange item on a thick bath towel, shape
as desired, allow to dry undisturbed.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn, worked 2 strands (200-300)
(Red Heart Super Saver)
 (Time requirement:1 hour, depending on size.)
9 mm straight knitting needles (worked flat) (US 13)
  (Any size needle can be used up to 12 mm,
   sample shown used 12 mm needles.)
Yarn needle

Gauge: 2.5 stitches and 2 rows - 1 sq. inch

INSTRUCTIONS:
1.  Works end to end.
With 2 strands of ww yarn, cast on 20 stitches
  
2.  Work in ribbing stitch for 4          rows (k2,p2)

3.  Knit across the next row.
4.  Knit the first 4 stitches, purl across the row but knit the last 4 
    stitches. (This will form the edges shown in the photo.)
5.  Repeat step 3 and 4 one more time. 

6.  Roman Stitch formed in the next 2 rows:
Knit the first 4 stitches, *purl the next stitch, knit the next stitch, 
repeat from * across the
row, knitting the last 4 stitches.
Knit the first 4 stitches, *knit the next stitch, purl the next stitch, 
repeat from * across the row, knitting the last 4 stitches.

7.  Repeat step 4,5 and 6 until the rectangle is as long as desired for 
     the length of the scarf,
     ending with 4 rows of ribbing, (k2,p2).  Cast off.
