MATERIALS:

Worsted weight yarn, worked 2 strands (total yardage, approx. 300 yards)

9mm crochet hook

Yarn needle

INSTRUCTIONS: Works top down

This pattern was originally written using Cloudsoft Yarn, which is a light worsted weight yarn,

It is re-written in this pattern for Red Heart Super Saver with is thicker.

1.  Chain 5, slip stitch to join and form a ring.

2.  Chain 2, make 10 double crochet in the ring, slip stitch to 
     join.

3.  Chain 2 and turn, make 2 double crochet in each stitch 
    around, slip stitch to join. (20)

4.  Repeat step 3 (40)

5.  Chain 2 and turn, *2 double crochet in the next stitch, 
    double crochet in the next 3 stitches,

repeat from * around, slip stitch to join. (50)

6.  *Chain 2 and turn, double crochet in each stitch around, 
    slip stitch to join.

Repeat from * for 4 more rows.

7.  Chain 2 and turn, work across the row alternating front 
    post and back post double crochet

    stitches, slip stitch to join, fasten off.  See a demo of front

Chain a cord of 90 stitches, weave through the bottom of the hat.

FLOWER:

3 flowers are shown on this hat.

Chain 5, slip stitch to join and form a ring.

Chain 10, single crochet in the ring, repeat from * to form 12 loops in the ring, slip stitch to join in the base of the first chain 10, fasten off.  Tie yarn ends into a square knot on the back of the flower.
