Worsted weight yarn,
 6-12 mths: 50 yds ; 
3-6 mths:45 yds ; 
newborn-3 mths:40 yds)
6 mm knitting needles,(worked flat)
Yarn needle

1.  This pattern is available on Ravelry in all sizes up to Adult:
           https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/2332k--easy-beanie

  Works bottom up, works flat, begin with red yarn: Cast on:   
Newborn - 3 months: 44 stitches,
3-6 months: 48 stitches,
6-12 months: 52 stitches

2.  All sizes: Work in ribbing (k2 p2) for 4 rows.

3.  Work in stockinette stitch (K one row P one row) for:
Newborn - 3 months: 2 rows
3-6 months: 2 rows
6-12 months: 2 rows

4.  All sizes: Attach white yarn, work stockinette stitch for 2 rows.
   (No need to fasten off after each color, carry the yarn to the next 
   section, and the connected yarn can be enclosed into the 
   seam of the hat.)

5. Attach gray yarn, work stockinette stitch for:
Newborn - 3 months: 4 rows
3-6 months: 4 rows
6-12 months: 6 rows
6.  All sizes: Attach white yarn, work stockinette stitch for 2 rows.

7.  Attach red yarn, work stockinette stitch for:
                 Newborn - 3 months: 4 rows
3-6 months: 6 rows
6-12 months: 8 rows

8.  All sizes: Knit 2 stitches together across the row, reducing to 1/2 the original
number of cast on stitches.
9.  All sizes: Purl across the row.

10. All sizes: Knit 2 stitches together across the row, casting off each stitch after it is worked.
   Leave a long yarn end, thread it into a needle, weave through the last row of stitches, pull to gather and close the top of the hat, take several stitches to secure, sew the back seam of the hat.

FREE CROCHET PATTERN, Easy Beanie Hat #2330n

I have a FREE CROCHET BEANIE HAT pattern on Ravelry!




It is very quick to work up.




This combination of Red and Gray colors would be great around Christmas!!


And of course, it can be worked up in any colors, or even in a solid color!!

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn, 70 - 160 yards
(new-3mths: 70 yds; 3-6 mths: 80 yds; 6-12mths: 90 yds)
6 mm crochet hook
Yarn needle

1.  This pattern is available up to adult sizes on Ravelry, Pattern # 2330
Works bottom up:
Newborn-3mths: chain 34, slip stitch to join being careful not to twist the chain.
3-6 months: chain 38, slip stitch to join being careful not to twist the chain.
6-12 months: chain 44, slip stitch to join being careful not to twist the chain.

2.  Chain 2, double crochet in each stitch around, slip stitch to join.

3.  Chain 2, alternate front post and back post double crochet around, slip stitch to join.

4.  *Chain 2, double crochet in each stitch around, slip stitch to join.
Newborn-3mths: go to step 5
3-6 months: Repeat from * for one more row.
6-12 months:Repeat from * for one more row.

5.  This design changed to white color yarn.  
Chain 1, single crochet in each stitch around, slip stitch to join.

6.  This design changed to gray color yarn.  *Chain 2, double crochet in each stitch around, slip
stitch to join.  Repeat from* for:
Newborn-3mths: 1 more row
3-6 months:1 more row
6-12 months:1 more row
7.  This design changed to white color yarn.  
Chain 1, single crochet in each stitch around, slip stitch to join.
8.  Change to main color.
   *Chain 2, double crochet in each stitch around, slip stitch to join.
    Repeat from * for:
Newborn-3mths: no more rows, fasten off with a long yarn end.
3-6 months: one more row, fasten off with a long yarn end.
6-12 months: one more row, fasten off with a long yarn end.

Thread the yarn end into a needle, weave through the last row of stitches, pull to gather up
and close the top of the hat, weave yarn ends into the finished work.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn: any color for clothing, white or gray for beard.

6 mm crochet hook
Yarn needle
2 beads for eyes, 1 bead for nose
3 buttons
1.5 inch styrofoam ball for head
Various embellishments
Paper cone (instructions in the video)
Hot glue gun and glue sticks, or white glue
Pink blush make-up (or a pink crayon or marker)

COAT:  (Coat is worked as a flat rectangle.)
Chain as long as the cone is tall.  Single crochet in the 2nd stitch from the hook,and each stitch of the chain. *Chain 1 and turn, single crochet in each stitch across the row, working in the back side of the stitch only.  Repeat from* until the work wraps around the cone, fold in half, and sew into a tube.

SLEEVES: (Sleeves are worked as flat rectangles, similar to the coat, only smaller.)
Make 2. Chain 10, single crochet in the 2nd stitch from the hook,and each stitch of the chain. *Chain 1 and turn, single crochet in each stitch across the row, working in the back side of the stitch only. Repeat from* for 10 - 12 rows, fasten off.  Fold in half, sew into tubes.

HANDS: (Worked as flat rectangles)
Make 2. Chain 7, single crochet in the 2nd stitch from the hook,and each stitch of the chain. *Chain 1 and turn, single crochet in each stitch across the row, working in the back side of the stitch only. Repeat from* for 2 more rows, fasten off.  Fold in half, sew into tubes.

HAT:  (Worked as a flat rectangle)
Chain 11, single crochet in the 2nd stitch from the hook,and each stitch of the chain. *Chain 1 and turn, single crochet in each stitch across the row, working in the back side of the stitch only. Repeat from* for as many rows as the coat. Fold in half, sew into a tube.

FACE:
Cut a scrap of white t-shirt (or an old sock), and glue over the ball.  Make sure there is one area that is smooth for the face part.

1. Slide the cone inside the coat tube, glue along the bottom edge.

2. Place arms beside the top of the cone, tie a piece of yarn to attach them. Apply glue for a permanent fix.

3. Slide the head into the hat, glue in place.

4. Push a craft stick inside the head, then into the cone, glue in place.

5. Cut lengths of yarn for the beard and hair, (wind around 4 fingers, tie into a bundle, glue in place. Make 7 - 8 bundles.)

6.  Apply blush to the cheeks with a cotton tip swab (or your finger).

7.  Glue beads on for eyes and nose, (or use pins with beads attached.)

8.  Glue buttons down the front of the coat.

9.  Attach any embellishments of your choice.
