Free Knitting Pattern - Unisex tall slippers, flat knit for beginners

#1156YT- KNIT TALL SLIPPERS - Unisex knitted slippers for beginners. Knit flat:  Wear them up on the leg, or fold down a cuff.

MATERIALS:
Worsted weight yarn, (Red Heart Super Saver,240 yds to 300 yds)
8 mm straight knitting needles
Yarn needle
Buttons optional
Measuring tape or ruler

1.  Working with 8 mm needles, and 2 strands of worsted 
     weight yarn, cast on:
8-12 yrs: 56 stitches
Adult small (shoe size 5 - 8): 60 stitches
Adult Medium: (shoe size 8 - 10: 64 stitches
Adult Large: (shoe size 10 - 12: 68 stitches
Adult XL: (shoe size 12 - 14): 74 stitches

2.  Knit every row until the work measures:
    8-12 yrs: 4 inches
Adult small: 4.5 inches
Adult Medium: 5 inches
Adult Large: 6 inches
Adult XL: 6.5 inches

3.  Cast off the first:
    8-12 yrs: 18 stitches, knit the remaining stitches of the row
Adult small: 19 stitches, knit the remaining stitches of the 
                    row.
Adult Medium: 20 stitches, knit the remaining stitches of 
                   the row.
Adult Large: 22 stitches, knit the remaining stitches of the 
                  row.
Adult XL: 24 stitches, knit the remaining stitches of the 
                  row.
4.  Repeat step 3.

5.  Knit every row until the work measures:
    8-12 yrs: 4 inches (8 inches total length)
Adult small: 4.5 inches (9 inches total length)
Adult Medium: 5 inches (10 inches total length)
Adult Large: 6 inches (12 inches total length)
Adult XL: 6.5 inches (13 inches total length)

6.  Knit across the row, casting off each stitch after it is 
     worked.  Leave a long yarn end,
    thread it into a needle, and weave through the last row of

   Pull tightly to close the
   toe end of the slipper, then sew across the top of the foot 
   and the front of the leg section.
   Sew the back seam of the slipper.  Weave all yarn ends 
   into the finished work.

FOOT SIZE CHART:
8 - 9 yrs: 6.5
9 - 10 yrs: 6.75
10 - 11 yrs: 7
11 - 12 yrs: 7.25
12 - 13 yrs: 7.5
13 - 14 yrs: 7.75
14 - 15 yrs: 8
16 yrs: 8.25
Adult 5: 8.5
Adult 6: 9
Adult 7: 9.5
Adult 8: 10
Adult 9: 10.5
Adult 10:11
Adult 11: 11.5
Adult 12: 12
Adult 13: 12.5
